Arthur Goldblatt: Founder of Grassroots Tennis

Art Goldblatt-- loving husband and father, devoted and active citizen of Norwalk, and the Founder of Norwalk/Stamford Grassroots Tennis & Education.
Art is the heart and soul of Grassroots - he taught us all to see the humanity in everyone, to give to others with open hearts, and when all else fails, to head to the tennis courts where you will find spirited competition and lifelong friends. We hope to honor his legacy today and everyday hereafter.

Judy Stone

Judy Stone was a 60 year resident of Fairfield County, raising her 3 boys in Stamford and New Canaan, and ultimately spending many years in Fairfield. She was the daughter of parents who had been raised as orphans, and in fact spent her early years in an apartment in an orphanage in Brooklyn, which her father ran. In addition to a love of sports…especially ice skating and tennis…she was an avid reader and a passionate believer in the power of education to lift minds, spirits, and circumstances. She believed strongly in the mission of Norwalk/Stamford Grassroots and was thrilled that her grandchildren made a contribution in her name.
Lorraine Barg

Lorraine Barg was a lifelong tennis player whose love and passion for the game was evident in every interaction. She was compassionate and always saw the good in others, on and off the court. Lorraine was a huge supporter of Grassroots and really enjoyed doing what she could to support the youth in the program.

Jeffrey Miller

Jeffrey Miller, longtime Norwalk resident and supporter of Grassroots passed away at 77 surrounded by his loved ones. We are honored to have continued support from his community even in his passing. His generosity of spirit is so evident by those who carry on his legacy. In particular, The Wilson Point Association who held an event in his honor raising money for Grassroots. We are proud to have had Jeffrey as part of our community. Jeffrey was described as a spirited and competitive athlete on the court. Thank you Jeffrey and the entire Miller Family.
